Funnily enough I found this immediately after commenting on the word “Snap” over at &Duck’s place. I’ve always used the word to mean doubling up” “Oh Snap! I’ve got that CD/make of car / anniversary date/ whatever”.
But 13 y.o. Tas uses it to mean “Pwnage!” as in, after what he considers a crushing riposte, will say “ooh, zing, snap.” or just “oooh snap.” (Spoken with sarcasm it further denotes “you thought that was a crushing riposte, but it was so not.”
I think I’ll have to phase out saying Snap to mean doubling up or I’ll become increasingly incomprehensible to anyone under 40.
